i have 2 girls, 2 and 1 yrs, i am finding it hard to strike a balance. me and the hubby are trying to wean grace [the oldest] off her dummy and bottles of milk but finding that she's not willing to let go as her sister still has these things. i just reall don't want to have to take these off sophie just yet but just haven't got a clue what to do.

Do you have to take them off her NOW? Are they causing problems with her speech/teeth? If not, I will just leave it. DS1 is 2.3 and still has bottles as his 7-month-old brother has it too. I plan to wean them off bottles at the same time. DS1's speech is excellent and so far, no problem with his teeth so I'm not worried. It's not a problem really if Grace only has dummy/bottles at nap/sleep times.

I have two girls with one year age gap and to be honest everything is so much easier if you attempt to do the same thing with both of them, the younger one might take longer, but the older one might be reassured that her sister is being treated the same. It does make my life much easier. Potty training was so easy, and younger one out of nappies before she was two because she wanted to be like her big sister, and I spent a few weeks trying to discourage it!
I'm only a year or so ahead of you, with my two girls, but I am finding the age gap is getting smaller and smaller with every month that passes and they do really like doing the same things. Having said that I will probably be posting in a few months asking how to split them up, they are really very very close now, not always sure how good that is!
