we moved our 2 1/2 yr old son to his new room recently. He has been in there, in his bif boys bed for 3 weeks now and wakes frequently in the night distressed, wanting us to stay with him. I know it will take a while for him to settle in his new space but wondered if anyone has any advice as to how we can avoid staying with him all night, hence missing out on vital sleep ourselves. I say Vital because I am about to drop with our 2nd any day now! Help please!!

I think I'd consider sleeping on a mattress on his floor for a few nights, gradually moving it from by his bed to near the door. If you really don't want to do that put a comfy chair in his room so you can doze while you're with him. Don't work too hard at it because you may well find it all goes down the drain when new baby arrives anyway and you'll all end up in bed together!
