i put mine in at 16 months and he was fine. i had no reason for putting in early i just wanted to get it over and done with as they dont have much of an opinion at that age. apparanty they become stubborn when there slightly older lol

I changed DSs cot into a bed at 15mth because he was looking very likely to climb over the bars, and I fugured it was safer to go to a bed. Because it was a cotbed it was very low to the ground and I just put a spare quilt on the floor beside it in case he rolled out. If he did, he must have just got back in, because there was never any problem!

My dd2 went into a bed at 14 months - mainly because she was waking herself up by banging against the cot and getting her limbs stuck through the bars. The bed is pretty low, but she has never fallen out and she's now nearly 3. It seemed to work well for us.

I put both my DCs into beds at about this age with no problems too, just used to use a bedrail on one side for a few months.
