HELP! worried about my almost 8 month old dd

My dd is almost 8 months old. She is not sitting up, or even attempting to. She can roll, from back to front, not back again. She can tolerate time on her tummy for around five minutes, but gets very tired of holding her head up after a minute or so, and then sort of lies there waiting for me to pick her up again.
I first got worried when I realised she did not have a very strong suck as a newborn, she lost weight at 6 weeks, and then I had to ff and express. We are still expressing. She was never able to suckle properly. I have been to the gp about it lots of time, apparently there is no issue. She also doesn't babble. She shrieks alot, laughs loud, but mostly makes a loud 'aaaaah' sound. She doesn't appear to have any hearing issues, or eyesight issues. She just seems to be falling further and further behind.
I have two sons with autism, one with additional hypotonia, but he was sitting up by this age.
Should I be extremely worried? It is really hard not to fret about it. I understand the need for early intervention and want to get help quickly. I was fobbed off alot when my 5 year old didn't walk until 30 months. I can't go through that again....

Most babies sit at around 6 months. I am afraid I would be concerned enough to take her to the GP, particularly given the family history.

I would definitely take her to the GP/HV and say you're worried.

However my ds2 although sitting at 6 months didn't move until nearly a year (bottom shuffler) and didn't walk until 16 months and he's fine just a very very laidback character.

Good luck!

My HV is very good and was always more interested in the eye contact/smiling/pointing stuff as development milestones.

My DD is 8 months, and is sitting so I can't reassure there. But the babbling thing sounds identical to what she's doing. IE - NOT babbling. She shrieks a lot, and occasionally makes a mmmmmm sound, but nothing like the dada mama baba I was expecting. However my mother is a very experienced SALT and says it's NOTHING to worry about. Comprehension is far more important, so if you say Dada and she looks at her Dad etc, that's fine and it doesn't matter if she's not babbling. Obviously don't expect heaps of comprehension now, but keep an eye out over next few weeks and hopefully it'll help put your mind at rest. Hope the sitting is just her preferring to lie down - the tummy thing sounds normal too tbh.

My DNephew didn't start sitting up until about 10 months. Now at a year he is virtually walking and was crawling very quickly after sitting up.

My DD however, was sitting at 6 months but now at a year (in two weeks), only started crawling this week. They are all different.

BUT, you are worried, so go and see someone that can hopefully reassure you or give you some peace of mind in one way or another.

Good luck...

PS: My DD HATED tummytime - unfortunately this has meant that she has flat-head syndrome. Ho hum... If it's not one thing it's another!
