Right, I have a wonderful dd who has just turned seven. She is bright, sociable and independant in many ways but she is driving me up the wall. Everything I ask her to do is met with moans and groans, she has zero tolerance for her 3yr old brother and is constantly bargaining to get her own way.

While I appreciate that seven year olds do act in this manner and are struggling to assert their place in the world it is seriously impacting on our relationship. No amount of reasoning gets through as she can argue that black is white and I end up getting angry and dishing out constant punishment which don't change the behaviour.

Is this normal? Have you experienced similiar problems and what effective ways have you employed to sort it. Just want a happy family life minus the constant conflicts and bad atmosphere which currently prevails.

try saying what you want to say and no further response to her moans back chat etc. sounds like she is gearing up to be a good debater!!!!! children like to interact even with an argument but you have to decide when to continue.

If it will cheer you up 7 yr old boys are the same.

BIB fail to mention all of those lovely attributes but all there too, favourite line is "I don't care" said in manner of stroppy teenager (really riles me). How do you and you crackfox deal with it?
