DS (2) terrified of fluff / floaty bits in the bath...

I know this is probably just a phase, but DS (2.4) is terrified of anything floaty. Whether it's flies, bees, motes of dust, cat hairs etc it gives him total panic attacks. It's even worse in the bath.

It's got to the point where he won't get into the bath because he's terrified of floaty bits (usually come off his feet) - we've tried cleaning the bath and cleaning his feet before he gets in, but there's always one tiny speck left over, and this is enough to totally freak him out.

DS used to love his bath, but he hasn't had a "normal" bath for about three weeks now. Any suggestions?

My DS (2.9) was just the same for a good week or so after some brand new socks turned out to be ultra fluff shedders. The only thing that worked for us was DH turning it into a game in the bath and getting him to 'chase' and catch the bits of fluff in one of his water cups. He found it absolutely hilarious and eventually looked forward to doing it.

How about bubble bath, might stop him seeing the floaters?

Second Stanton, or what about a small fishing net to catch the bits with?

DS is the same. I am also hoping it's a phase...

Oooh the bubble bath sounds like a plan - will try it next time

Fishing net and letting him fish them out?

My little guy (2.5) fits your description perfectly. I've had to turn fishing out the 'specks' (his term) into a funny game after I physically stop him from leaping out of the bath. He went off bubbles around the same time otherwise that would be a great solution - hope it works for you.
