Can someone please remind me how to get them to change when they have swapped night for day?

I know this is really common in newborns where they get night for day swapped around.

Can someone please remind me how to swap it back again? I know I did it with DC2, but have no idea how as it was three years ago!

DD hardly slept at all last night, and consequently nor did I and I am shattered. Also have a 3 and 4 yr old so need to be able to sleep.

I have Dh home for a while so can luckily sleep during the day if needed, and am aware it may take a while, but it would be lovely if it could be done by the time he goes back to work.

Not sure I want to put a 5 day old on a routine as such, but vaguely recall this may be the way to do it? As in keep them awake for a certain period of time?? I cant remember!!

Any suggestions gratefully received! Thanks!

Afternoon walks - 2pm - 4pm. In the sunshine if possible but every single day. Make it dark at night and throw open the curtains and preferably go outside in the morning.
