Can anyone suggest an age suitable birthday present for a boy who is 8? I need something in the £15 - £20 range (and this child has rich parents who like to indulge him). It doesn't have to be special just something he probably doesn't have 100 versions of already. (he's very sporty, if that gives anyone ideas)

Something creative - one of those colour-in cardboard castles for the garden, or a cookery book for boys and some comedy decorated wooden spoons, or similar, so it's more about the doing than the stuff IYSWIM...

A bit of a cop out but something like a book token? DD got given a voucher for gap last year and was thrilled to go and choose something for herself.

Money - my 8-year-old sporty son loves the chance to go out and spend it on what he wants. He's also paying for golf lessons so contributions are always welcome!
