She just keeps her food in her mouth!

DD is 9months tomorrow. She was a fantastic eater, until a week ago.

She wont refuse food, she'll open her mouth but just wont swallow the food and just keeps it in her mouth for a good 5 minutes, which means meal times last ages! I usually give up after 20-30 minutes as it gets really frustrating which means she's hardly eaten anything.

I'm BF, and she isnt even interested in that very much, I have to keep offering. Usually she's offered a BF twice a day (morn and eve) but now that she isnt eating very much, I am offering about 4 BF's a day.

Has anyone else's child been through this? How long did it last?

Just need some reassurance really, its just getting soo frustrating now.

I was told that this is a typical age when food can loose its appeal as the novelty wears off. I think you must just continue offering the food and giving her opportunity to eat then when she doesn't eat just get on. Don't worry about offering the extra bfs she'll eat and drink as much as her body needs. Unless your happy to esculate the b.feeding which obviously is fine aswell. Trust your gut. Everything will work out in a few weeks.

She may well be teething and it 'feels' funny to have food in her mouth, or it is nice to chew against. Similarly may feel odd to BF. I would give it a week or two and i'm sure things will improve
