Malorie Blackman has also written some great books for this age group - they're well written and worth looking out for. I've enjoyed reading them too!

All the Michale Morpurgo books have been a huge hit with my dc's ..dd is ten and a half and has read every single one -he has been her fave author for the past couple of years..
She is now reading Cathy Cassidy and Eva Ibbotson
