No weight gain for 5 yr old DD, prem 31 weeks. Tactics, options?

I am becoming really concerned that my 5 year old DD is not putting on weight (she's only 15kg), although she is getting taller almost by the day. My main worry is that her very slight frame and internal organs, particularly heart, simply can't keep pace with her vertical growth and will be put under strain.

My DD was born at 31 weeks. She is bright, perky, quarellsome, awkward, fun, active etc. etc. So far so 'normal'. She's bang in the middle of the percentile chart for height - she's 1.1m (3' 7" in old money)tall - but as I said she only weighs 15kg. She's been at this weight for about three months now.

She is stick thin, and always has been, but seems to have 'normal' levels of energy for school, bike riding, playing in the park and so on. Her appetite is OK, and at times she packs away a startling amount. Her stomach can only be tiny though. She poohs for Britain.

The obvious option if worried (as I am) is to get a consultant involved - but before I do that has anyone else had this concern? What have you done about it? And what has happened after intervention, if any?

All contributions gratefull received.

My ds1(6) similar. not quite as tall as your dd though. eats like a horse. almost skinny. went to gp who weighed him checked him over, did height.
Gp said monitor it and make an appointment to come back in few months.
just wanted to cover myself really. unlike you i wan't quite as concerned re his health, but i can't work out why he is so slim.
