DS is 17 weeks old and due to finances im going to need to spend more time at home. When we are at home he seems to get grumpy and tired really easily & is sleeping quite a lot and so not really at night which also means im spending most of the day with my ass stuck to the sofa. We do walks to the park etc but i just wondered what everyone else does?

(this is from memory)

baby gym
bouncy chair sessions, esp to watch cooking, washing up etc
singing (nursery rhyme book with tunes as i could never remember any beyond baa baa, brain blank from lack of sleep)
games - round and round the garden, peep-bo with muslin etc, trying different cloth textures if attempting to be good stimulating mummy
building with bricks - i built, he watched fall

other free things out of the house as tbh i hated being stuck at home:
museums
nct coffee sessions plus meeting up with new mates as spinoffs from those - i just asked to go for a walk or meet at my house rather than go to ££ cafe
local toddler groups, though usually they did cost £1 or so - we went to every one we could find
local family centres - fabulous plus you get to try out new activities and toys without spending

Shopping / errands walking or using buses rather than the car as much as possible.

Popping him on a squishy blanket/duvet on the floor in the room where you are doing cooking/laundry etc.

Pop in a music dvd or put on magic on Sky, often a big hit.

Extra bath time.

Bed bouncing.

out in the garden.
