Could my 11 week old be teething?

Or any other suggestions for what this could be?

For the last two nights my DD2 has had a major screaming and crying jag at bedtime.

Last night she had a bit of a temperature - not so much that I was freaking out and wanting to put her in a bath of ice, but enough that I was concerned and eventually gave her some paracetamol.

Tonight we had the same thing - screaming and roaring in pain. No matter what I did to try to soothe her she just kept crying to the point of hysteria she was very distressed. She had no temperature but she was chewing her hands off and gobs of drool were falling on the floor. She normally sucks her fingers, but this was more chewing than sucking.

I gave her paracetamol again. I'm really not happy about giving an 11 week old baby paracetamol 2 nights in a row, but she really seemed to be in pain. Could it be her teeth? The only other thing I can think of is a pain in her tummy of some kind, but what could be causing it?

Any ideas? Should I bring her to a doctor tomorrow? She's been fine all day and slept well last night once she finally went down.

I would take her to the Dr - it could be an ear infection.

My sil whose a GP maintains that teething should not cause a temperature.

Oh, an ear infection. I hadn't thought of that. She doesn't actually have a temperature this evening at all but she did have one last night.

I'd say she is too young for a teething ring, she can't hold things yet really.

Thank you both.

My 2 year old is getting her 2nd molars at the moment, and it's a bit grim, so maybe I just have teeth on my mind.
