Where's my lovely little boy gone?

He turned 3 2 weeks ago and is now VILE. He has always been tricky - he always cried more than other children, was always more clingy than other children, was quite stroppy at times during the age of 2 - but nothing the naughty corner couldn't sort out.

He is really horrible at the moment - I don't know what to do. He takes himself off to the naughty corner with a smirk on his face as if to say "whatever".

He cries loads at the moment - a lot of it is put on - silly cries. He is demanding more than ever. Cries over the silliest little things. Gets cross all the time. Shouts at me. Is frankly quite hideous. He disregards anything I say. Ignores me if I tell him to do anything.

I want my lovely little boy back. I think this one is faulty - can i take him back?

I'm afraid you're stuck with him until he reaches monosyllabic teenagerhood. You may find it gets better when he starts school though, but only at school. He will revert when you pick him up.

No that is MY son. I have a beautiful boy who has been possessed. He is 2.9 yo and over the past week he is embarrassing. I brought him to work with me at the Pre-school Holiday Club yesterday and today. He was the only child crying, stamping their feet, screaming, not doing what they were asked (like sitting on the mat for songs or sitting down for lunch). I am so embarrassed as I have only worked there a few months. He was talking in a strange voice and I said I thought he had been possessed to one of my colleagues. I want this phase to pass NOW. If any child brushed past him he broke down in hysterics as though they had beaten him to within an inch of his life. However, he hit another child with a frying pan and when he was chastised he cried about that. He has to come again next week and I can't take the stress [sigh]

my ds is only 14 months, with a 3 and 5 year old brother and sister, and since his 1st birthday he has been miserable and bad tempered, has an I want right now complex and has learn to throw, hit and bite.

Ment to say - at least a 3 year old understands 'NO'.

DS doesn't seem to at 14 months.

yes he understands NO but takes not a blind bit of notice of it, and seems to be revelling in the fact.

I think he's been possessed too. Devil child!!!
