My daughter is at the moment on Ritalin, she is 6 and the medication has helped ease her terrible unexplainable mood swings, tempers, etc... Recently she has been going backwards re. her moodswings etc, no where near as bad but still worrying! She is being assessed for ADHD etc and last month was put on a 2 month food elimination diet which is very strict! Next week she is having an EEG done at Haywards Heath - has anyone else's child been through any of this especially the EEG? If so do we find out what is wrong if anything there and then or at a later date? Any responses would be gratefully received from people in similar circumstances. Thanks!

Hi
Hi Jill,

My 4 year old is ADAH, his behavior varies from day to day, and he can be good as gold but very rarely,
He doesn’t sit still for on min. the school is finding it hard and they called in the education psychologist to help them. They want his to settle in ASAP for the team (year 1).
What is EEG?

Satty, an EEG is basically a Brain Scan. My daughter had hers just over a week ago, she had to go to the hospital, there they attached wires with sensors to her head then asked her to do things such as blinking, deep breathing etc...It took about 1 hour from start to finish and my daughter was fine and calm throughout. It takes 2 to 3 weeks to get the results so on our next appointment on August 14th we will find out. The Paediatrician put us in for one. Good luck!
