My daughter who is 8 weeks doesn't really smile. Occasionally, maybe a couple of times a day will she give you a response smile but that's it. This also started quite late, around 5 weeks while my two boys started to smile around 3 weeks and by 8 weeks they couldn't stop!

Is she just taking her time/'not being happy enough'or is something not as it should be? ANyone who has had a baby not really smiling by this age? Im a bit worried...

I don't think my son really smiled until he was about 12 weeks. I really wouldn't worry about it.

5 weeks for a response smile is not late- average is 6 weeks.
She sounds totally fine.

My daughter who is now 11 weeks had her first smile at 6 weeks. And it was MAX one VERY short smilie a day if at all! Now she is 11 weeks she started smiling more. I would not worry about it at all.
