screaming bath moments

my baby is 4 months old now and has been having baths since day one. he has always much enjoyed bathing, he shared most of his first smiles in the water and we used this time as our bed time ritual in the evening.
however, last few night he has been absolutely petrified from even touching the water. i dont know what has changed and nothing has happen to my knowledge to cause such drastic change in emotions towards the activity he loved for past four months.
does anyone have an idea of what might cause this? i would much appreciate your advice.

Poor you, sounds like you're really worried.

I worder if 4 months is when they get a little more aware. Our DD has lept from LOVING baths to hating them and screaming.

Generally she likes baths - she usually baths with me and I Have found this to be fantastic. Was much easier to wash her and as time has gone on (she is now 2 and a half) we play and relax together and it is really quialty time (ofte we have all three of us in the bath)

Would you condider getting in with him? Probabaly need to have somebody pass him in at this stage?

But as above, don;t worry - chances are he'll go back to loveing baths.

not sure why in his case BUT i have heard of this happening, espec in older toddlers who suddenly refuse to sit down. my advice would be to forget the 'why' (as you'll never know) and just go back to sqaure one, which in my case involved getting in th bath with my son as he hated baths right from the start, then gradually re-build his confidence from there. as he has liked them in the past he should hopefully not take too long to enjoy again.
hope this helps
