ds is 3, nealy 4, and over the past two weeks he's started dribbling like a baby. Its just running out of his mouth. its not bothering him in the slightest. I wondered if he had an ulcer or something but he denies any pain or discomfort. He has all his teeth, 20 right? Do teeth move around or grow? He was a very dribbly baby and is generally quite snotty. he also has a tongue tie but that seems the same. any ideas?

Hi billyog
My ds is also 4 and has the same problem. I have recently discovered that he has enlarged adenoids so is mouth breathing a lot which causes the drooling. He snores quite loudly too and is generally snotty which I think is an allergy/hayever.
Could this be similar for your little boy?

hhmm, interesting. How did you find out about the adenoids? G.P I suppose. I might take him along and see what they say. thanks for your imput.

Sounds just like my DS 3.5 constant dribbling, terrible snorer! Eh what are adenoids? And does it matter if they are enlarged? I know he has enlarged tonsils but dr said don't need fo anything!

Hmm I'm gonna mark my place.

Good luck at docs billyog

My DS ( 4 in June) is doing this too.

We've just found out he has glue ear and I think that's part of the reason why.

Maybe get a hearing test just to check this? Our appointment came through in 2 weeks.

I brought my ds to the GP and he diagnosed the enlarged adenoids. He said they may have to be removed but they don't rush to do it and will monitor it as often the adenoids shrink by themselves. Apparently when kids snore like this they are not getting good quality sleep. This was one reason I brought my little boy to dr,-I noticed him falling asleep in the car and more tired during the day despite going to be early.
kidshealth.org has quite a good article about it
