1yr now refusing spoon

I used the baby lead weaning method with my son which generally worked well and right from the beginning he was happy handling a spoon (if I gave it to him with the food already loaded on) I have been back to work now for almost 2 months and he is in the care of nursery/grandparents/father when I'm not there and they have been feeding him with a spoon. Now he refuses to use it himself, although he can, and just lowers his mouth towards it and gets angry if I try to put it in his hand. Any tips to get him back on track, or should I just wait until he's ready to use it again?

Lecture your nursery and other child-carers most severely! Think you'll just have to wait until he shows an interest again - does he still feed himself finger foods?

I know - but grandparents do a great job of looking after him and I think it would fall on deaf ears anyway! He does feed himself with finger foods so think I may have to wait until he's interested in doing it himself again. Really disappointing, but I guess there are worse things!

You could try two spoons one for you and one for him. If you can face what he is eating perhaps get him to feed it to you whilst you feed him. Both my DS loved feeding me whilst I was feeding them. That might get him back into the habit of handling a spoon.

just serve the food without the spoon. what is it you're trying to give him that isn't a finger food?
