6 month old can't keep any purees down

my 6 month old son was doing fine with his first foods - carrot, sweet potato, butternut squash etc all whizzed within an inch of their lives. he had been eating them once a day for about 3 weeks. recently however he just gags as soon as the food is in his mouth and if he does swallow any it comes back up within a couple of minutes. He is teething and has the two bottom front teeth on their way through the gum.
has anyone else experienced similar? he drinks all his milk and that stays down. i'm going mad with worry and frustration!

personally i would give the food a break, up his milk if needed and start again in a week or so. Also you could mash them so he can 'work' them in his mouth.
