Eye colour & change

Hello!

I'm a new mum, my baby (Anna) is 5 weeks old. I'm slightly concerned about her eyes. One eye has changed colour (to blue) but the other eye has remained the very dark colour that it was when she was born.

Is it normal for babies eyes to change colour at different times?

Is there a chance it'll still change to blue and match the other one?

I thought their eyes always changed colour at the same time.

I hope it doesn't mean something's wrong with her vision. She seems to see ok and is able to follow things as much as a 5 week baby can, she looks at me and smiles and reacts to light etc. There's nothing obvious at the moment, it's just the colour difference that's strange!

Any advice or thought would be good.

Thanks
Vix

both mine changed eye colour at the same time. I know a few people though with two differrent coloured eyes.

Its very unusual for babies eyes to lighten, its usually the other way round. Are her pupils the same size?

my cousin has different coloured eyes, I think her eyesight is ok...

My dd's eyes were dark, almost navy blue when she was born. By the time she was a few months old they were a brilliant blue.

They turned green when she was around 2 and then went brown (hazelly really) when she was around 3.

They both changed at the same time though, so I've no experience there.

It wouldn't harm to get something to take a look at them to put your mind at rest

I'd go and get it checked anyway x (optometrist)
