When he doesn't want to any more ? My DS is nearly 4, and loves having a bath together

Lulumaam · 26/03/2010 16:08

agree with CMOT, when your son not longer wants to ,natural embarassment will happen at an appopriate age, or when you no longer feel you want to

Ds is 5 nearly 6 and we haven't bathed together since he was about 3 although he occasionally still gets in with dh. He likes to splash and play; I like to soak. My answer would be you stop when either you or ds start to feel awkward or embarrassed.

Ds is 6 (nearly 7) and although I couldn't stand having a bath with him as he likes the water luke warm and wriggles, he often jumps into the shower with me. When he doesn't want to, I assume that he won't.

DS1(6) and ds2(18mths) both get in at the end of my bath, occassionally. i have a great soak then they get in. then i get out.
both shower with me and dh regularly.
does embarrassment start at 8 or 9 ? no problem till then, i think. or whatever age the embarrassment starts. he will tell you, i guess.

I was in the bath with DS (5.5) yesterday as he wasn't feeling well and wanted to warm up. A warm bath and cuddle was lovely and when he got out, he was sufficiently relaxed to go for a much needed sleep... I would bath with him even if he wasn't poorly, see no problem with it!!

meandjoe · 26/03/2010 16:51

until he says he doesn't want to see you naked anymore I suppose! I bath with my ds all the time and so does dh. Have no problem with it while ever he's happy to do it.

DS is 7.6 yo and still somes in the shower with me in the mornings. He hasn't been in the bath with me for years though. He does however bath with his 9.6 yo sister and I'm thinking maybe that should stop soon.
