DD was diagnosed with both last month, and has seen a wonderful paediatrician. We are pending the barium swallow but in the meantime she is on Ranitidine 3 x a day , 2 x Gaviscon in each bottle, and on SMA LF milk. For the past month this has been going well, she had only ever taken 1oz an hour feeds, and never slept for more than 50 minutes in the night, and we started to see a change. At 5 1/2 months I started weaning her successfully, and she was taking 2 small meals a day and down to waking 5-6 times a night, bliss for us in comparison.

However, in the last 10 days all her old symptoms are back - horrendous coughing, taking 1oz at a time, always whinging, never settled, etc. Took her to the GP incase something else wrong and she said no, everything fine. Her cough is so horrendous that it is bringing up her milk too. I literally have to stop my life to deal with her like this. My toddler hates it, as doesnt get a look in, and I am at my wits end.

Have any of you heard of a baby like this, poss building up an intolerance after something has started to work so well?
Having tried SO many milks etc before this worked, I feel I am back to square one.

Help x

hi, FFM. I second what ruby's said. Maybe the dose needs adjusting again.
Also, my DS did very well on LF milk for about 4 weeks and then it stopped working. Turns out he developed cow milk protein intolerance in the meantime and we had to change from SMA LF to Nutramigen. I'm keeping my fingers crossed she gets better!
