DS is a year on Sunday and has been shuffling for about a month. He's very pleased with himself especially as he seems to draw attention to himself when he does it when we're out!
Basically am after any tips re trousers (he is wearing through the bottoms!) and nappies which seem to get dislodged with all the movement and don't get me started on pooey ones

Cords or jeans ware pretty well, both DS's were bum shufflers, joggers seem to make it easier for them to move and less likely to try and walk, we had wooden floors in the whole flat with DS1 so it was his main method of transport!

As for the poo, vests seemed to stop the seepage factor, so only requiring change of vest not whole outfit.

He will soo get fed up of squishing poo in his bum!

Happy Birthday To Him!

another bum shuffling mum here too....Dd is now 21 mths, walked at 15 mths....she did this really wierd bunny hop and could do it with great speed ,,,could never put her is skirts or dresses cos she chafed her legs, reckon cords/jeans would offer most protection....agree with previous poster that vests do tend to contain the smells !!!

BTW ...we had a physio referal which finally came through when she was walking....they reckon that bottom shufflers can be less ssteady when they get going with walking as they don't develop the same upper body muscles that crawlers do. SHe runs everywhere now tho !!!

sorry to post and run, sleep won over mn! We gave up with poppered vests quite a while ago as we use reusable nappies and they often cause leaks. Plus, and never quite understood this but if they poo and it leaks onto the vest you may only have to change the vest but you have to strip them off to get to it! ds does tend to wear joggers mostly because his big bum doesnt fit in jeans and we have hard floors so we are making it easy for him!
