DS1 13 Months Old - winging all day! Tantrums feeding etc

My son has been pretty good until now but recently he has started winging all day long. He won't play on his own in his play area, he likes clinging to my leg, wants to be picked up but then wants to be down. At meal times he complains in between mouthfuls. So I've tried giving him the spoon to feed himself and he throws it on the floor in a strop. As well as the yoghurt pot and anything else. He moans for his drink then chucks that on the floor when I give it him.
He moans when I try change his nappy and when I get him dressed we have this moaning/crying combo. I really don't understand why he's so annoyed all the time. What's his problem?! Thanks

Hi, my 13month daughter is exactly the same! She has been a little better over the last week or so but everything you describe in your post is behaviour we have had from her too! I think it is due to a developent phase (isn't everything!) and I read a similiar thread on another forum where lots of people were posting with similar comments about their children at this age. No advice I'm afraid, just wanted to share and let you know that they all seem to go through this!

Thanks Hannah, my order of "New Toddler Learning" Christopher Green just arrived from Amazon so am going to see what advice that offers! Someone recommended it so I'll let you know if I discover the reason!

my 12 month ds sounds v similar - he was v. happy to occupy himself until very recently, and now he seems to whinge constantly, and seems so impatient at mealtimes, crying constantly if the flow of food stops! He hates going in car seat, having nappy changed, going in buggy, going for a nap... the list goes on. Glad to hear it could be linked to a developmental stage. If anyone has any ideas how long it might last please let me know!

Another one here !! DD is almost 14 months old. She's gone from being quite passive and easy to a whingeing clinging, stroppy nightmare. I did see today that she has two big molars on her upper gums, another molar on the lower gum and one eye tooth all coming through so I'm not overly surprised.

She'll kick and scream getting into the high chair, whinge about getting in teh buggy, wriggle and cry through nappy change, want a cuddle then want to get down oh the list is endless !

The one saving grace is that DS who is 3.7 years just seems like an angel in comparison - it's usually him I moan about. In fact DS has taken to calling her a "stroppy madam !" and we both have a giggle about it . Any offers from Granny to take her for a "few hours" is gratefully received at the moment !

PS oh and dont' worry this phase just gets replaced by another.....
