What do you/did you do to entertain your 2 month old? Now he is spending more time awake during the day I am stuck for what to do once he has been in his baby gym for half an hour and his rocking chair.

I forgot to say I also show him black and white books, read him stories and sing to him. He just gets bored easily!

It's a tought age as all they really want and need is to be next to you. Have you got a sling you could put him in then you could carry him about and get on with your jobs. I've got one where you can easily put your baby on your front or back. It was a lifesaver, still is for DS who is now 18mths old!

They don't have much of an attention span at this age and baby toys are a bit pointless so just keep him close by and get on with your day, he will be learning plenty by being next to you. Go for plenty of walks too.

I remember having the same dilemma a few months ago. Another at home option is a battery operated mobile (tiny love & fisher price do them) - we attached this to a chair in the kitchen and put DD on her changing mat underneath it and that would keep her entertained for a bit. Does your DS like looking at people yet? If so, just go somewhere where there will be lots of people (coffee shop, park, library story session) and let him stare at them. Or even going to a friend's house or having a friend over will give him someone else to look at/listen to. SureStart offered baby massage in our area so I did that which DD enjoyed and passed another hour or so of the week! DD is now almost 5 months and it is so much easier as she actually plays with the toys on her play gym etc.
