Bossy three-year-old

My daughter is so bossy! My parents say I was the same, but it's really getting me down.

She bosses us around, and her peers. I worry that she'll lose friends if she can't change it.

Anyone had a similar child and changed them, or will we be living with this forever?!?!

My DD can be like this, but she's nearly 4 now and so can understand a more rational explanation, including being told that people won't want to play with her if she's like this.

Her little brother now being able to stand up to her has helped too!

I thin the bottom line is that you have to stand up to it and show her that, at home, she is NOT the boss. You are!

jane. Children tend to learn by example!! She's exploring life isn't she? finding out the type of reactions she'll get; it's not 'bad behaviour'

She'll modify her bossiness when she realises that other children don't nec. want to be bossed. some do of course!!

Relax, it's called growing up and we all do, did, it in different ways.
