Whenver I say something to DS he repeats what I've said as a question (when he listens of course )
Eg (conversation just now)
Me: Your arm is covered in ketchup
DS: Covered in ketchup?

Or

Me: Dinner's ready
DS: Dinner's ready?

Or

Me: Can you get dressed please?
DS: Get dressed?

It's driving me mad!

No, but my DH does it. Bah.

My ds does this - he is only 3.2. think its just a practising language thing.

SpicedGerkin · 04/03/2010 17:00

Do you or your DH do that to him?

Even if it's just to make sure you understood him?

My friends DS was the same and she couldn't understand why until i pointed out that she did it to him all the time!

Fruitbatlings · 04/03/2010 17:00

Yeah but my DS is approaching 5, he's had a lot of language practice!

My dd age 4 does similar but actually I think it's worse.

e.g.
ME: Grandma's coming to see us today.
DD: Who's coming to see us?
ME: What did I just say?
DD: Grandma's coming.
ME: Yes.
DD: Who's coming Mummy?

...and 100 other times through the day.

I think she does it to keep my attention in case I start paying attention to either of her older siblings. Maybe a third child attention tactic. Really annoying though.

Oh yes, DS does this too. infuriating
