Hi ladies.

I'm new to the site so firstly, a big hello to you all!

Secondly I am totally freaking out regarding my son Ewan, he is just 9 months this Monday gone and has changed so much over the last 2 weeks it's just bizzar.

He has gone from being out going, confident, calm and content to clingy, tearful almost perminantly and at times hysterical.

Before all this he wanted to be set down so he could play with toys, interact with others and generally discover the world. He would only want me when he wanted breastfeeding, and he actually prefered strangers the rest of the time. He had gone down to about 4 breast feeds a day and sleeping the night through with no issue. Eating 5 solid meals a day with fresh fruit snacks.

He is now breastfeeding about 8 times a day, at least, screaming himself into hysterics if I just so much go from his line of sight and refusing point blank to sit anywhere where someone isn't sat directly with him. Even then he can get whingy until they pick him up.

I'm posting this here now because last night it went too far. The last two nights I have barely had an hour or two with having to constantly go into him, comfort him and re-settle him into sleep. SO last night, I left him with his toys in his play pen to go and run his bath. He INSTANTLY started howling the place down, I managed to get the water ran but he actually vomited he was that hysterical so I went into him and picked him up.

He was going beserk, clinging to me for his life and then he went silent, rigid and his eyes rolled back. he jerked about for 10 secs ish and came out of it. We freaked out and almost dailed 999 but he was almost immediately fine once he stopped jerking so we went with nhs24. They confirmed it had been a fit and to get him seen today by the GP.

I'm taking him this afternoon but I really am so worried about his behaviour. He is happy enough with daddy but anyone else will only do aslong as he can see me.

To further add to this he isnt showing an signs of crawling yet, he cant roll properlly either. He can go front to back but not back to front at all. He also does this awful rocking thing. No matter where he is sat he just rocks, really hard, even when eating ; plus he's suddenly not eating properly but he has 6 teeth all cutting at the same time

Please help ladies,

Ali xx

ali, i don't think the separation anxiety you describe is that unusual, and not eating while cutting teeth is also normal. dd was ten months when she crawled and was never that into rolling, i don't think it's necessary to worry about these yet. you should run your worries by your gp when you are checking about the fitting, but don't panic they all develop in different ways.

Make sure you get the GP to thoroughly check his ears. My DS now 2.8yrs would be mental with ear infections, and has had many. All the clingyness, vomiting, fitting could be down to an infection. Maybe get them to check for urine inf as well (v difficlut - you will have to catch wee).

He sounds developmentally perfect.

Good Luck.
