Nearly 3 Yr old telling tales - Please Help

with tactics on how to deal with it.

My nearly 3 yr old DD is coming out with - ''my brother sat on my head'' (he actually sat on her ball) - I know this because I was there.

She also said, ''my mummy pushes me'' in a ''proud voice'' to a random woman.... who looked concerned, until I explained , that I was just guiding her along while shopping in asda ,weaving our way through shoppers.

Any ideas ?

Thankyou

I'd probably say something about not getting mummy into trouble with the police re the pushing her and advise her that nobody likes a tell tale. I wish I'd done that with my nearly nine year old tell tale tit.

If my son tells a tale I say - 'I don't listen to tell tales, so don't tell me.' He doesn't appear to tell tales, yet. DH does though, he is such a bad example sometimes!

I do the same if he says something in a whiny voice - 'Say it in your nice voice, and I will listen. I don't listen to whining.' Seems to work.

My mum would never listen to tales and me and my brothers never told tales on each other, it made us rally together really, no other option!
