8 month old development

Hi

I would really appreciate some advice on my 8 month olds development.

At his check a couple of weeks ago the HV was worried as he was not sitting unsupported and also his pincer grip was not developed.

I am now worried about his development! I am an older first time mum so probably panic too much.

He much prefers being on his tummy and rolls around both ways ok and is also up on his hands and knees rocking and also attempts to bunnyhop.

Am I panicing too much?!

Thank you

Hi they don't do 8 month check in my area. My dd is 9 months and dies jot crawl but is v close. She hates it on tummy though and is not a big roller. She can sit and has done for a while. Her pincer grip now that you mention is not massively developed, she mostly grabs withher whole fist but her dexterity is improving. Your ds sounds fine to me, will he sit at all for a few secs? Is he babbling? X

That should be does not crawl, am on stupidi phone xx

Sounds like he is doing well with attempts to crawl and is active with rolling - wouldn't give me much cause for concern tbh. Having a dd who does have physical problems I would have been delighted if she had been doing those things at 8 months! Some babies crawl before they can sit!
According to my development book, pincer grip starts to emerge by 9 months but is not consistent until 1 year so I wouldn't worry just yet.

he does sit for a few secs and also is chatting away all the time!

Please don't worry.

My DD is nearly 9 months old and although she has been sitting for a few weeks now and pincer grip seems Ok, she isn't making any attempt to move yet. Whereas her cousin who is 5 weeks older, crawls but doesn't sit.

I am just under the illusion that my Gorgeous gorgeous DD is developing her brain instead of her leg and arm muscles!!
