"That ladies' got big boobies"

My 2yo DD has been obsessed with bodies for a while now. We're quite an open family and she sees both DH and I when we're naked.

However, she's very fixated on 'boobies' and is continally pointing out that people have them, especially if they're on the large side (she's also pointed out that someone's are 'on their tummy' )

I've tried ignoring her, saying yes so that I've acknowledged her, but I'm starting to get a bit frustrated. She says it about people on the TV, visitors, the workers at her nursery and stangers when we're out shopping or in the street - and she will repeat it very loudly quite a few times. I suppose I'm worried about other people's potential reactions if they don't like it.

Is this something that I just need to let pass? I don't think I'm helping at the moment because I think she can sense that I'm getting uptight about it, so does it all the more. Advice would be much appreciated on how to handle this. Thank you.

There are 2 things you can do - either let it pass or when she gets started on it distract her by talking about other body parts (oh yes - and where would you find your toes? Nose? elbows? Teeth?) Its a phase and will pass - at 2 she's too young to get social niceties about not talking about other people's body parts...

Agree 100% with dinky, my dd used to point out mens winkles. She was absolutely fascinated with the idea that big grown up men and little boys had them. I am glad to report she has outgrown this.

I kind of know it's a phase - just seems to be going on for a while . Thanks ladies, will try distraction and see how we go.
