Copied from the SE board as i could do with some replies/anything that doesn't make me feel so alone

For five years ee have had problem after problem with appointments being cancelled, reports not arriving, things going missing.

I am at the end of my tether.

I am sure my son has an ASD, the triad of impairments for ASD describes him pretty well.

His Paed is currently off on the sick and not due back till the middle of march, he last saw her in July! I mentioned ASDs and she said don't be stupid he isn't autistic (may not have been her exact wording) as he has good eye contact, WTF hmm

I'm waiting for an OT report from October.

I'm very concerned that because of the time going passed that they feel that as there has been diagnosis in 5 years there is nothing to find, but i'm the only one who knows exactly what has gone missing/not happened etc.

-----

Now i have discovered that all is not rosey at school and it is affecting his relationships there!

I also found out that they have no record of him being under a Paediatrician

If you have got this far thanks, any advice, ideas or support welcome.

does he get any help at school as you don't need a dx to receive help could you speak to the school senco get the teacher to write exact concerns and take this back to gp and ask for another referral as your not getting anywhere and its affecting your child's school work

my ds has ASD and is statemented but some children in his class have no dx and receive 12.5 hrs of help from school funding i think its action plus they set up IEP'S etc and receive some form of help im sure all schools do this so may well be worth you checking this out and meeting with teacher and senco to discuss what you can do to help in meantime

Do they have sencos in Scotland?

There has never been any mention of one.

School are going to see about getting Ed Phy in.

No extra help in school, this has only come to light as i pushed the issue, who knows how long it would have gone on for if not.

Seems as he himself is no trouble, they're not bothered.
