What injuries have your poor dcs suffered this week?

It's been one of those weeks, dd fell spectacularly backwards down the stairs resulting in a carpet burn running the length of her face. DS fell and whacked his face on the corner of coffee table whilst pretending to be a chicken resulting in huge black cheek. Then dd again fell, this time head first into a concrete wall whilst skipping, now has a big lump to go with carpet burn. Sometimes wonder what people think I've been letting them get up to!

DD1-10 sprained her wrist last night. Ugghh.

nigglewiggle · 24/02/2010 20:32

DD1 (21 mths) was playing in the baby bath and tipped out hitting her cheek on the coffer - lovely black eye resulted. Then she thought it was a good idea to run around with a blanket on her head . Just before i got to her she tripped and caught her forehead on the skirting board.....

13yo burnt her arm taking some chips out of the oven, not serious.

9yo has put his hip out, don't know if this counts as it's part of an ongoing joint condition, but he's in a lot of pain and can't sit up so has to resort to all sorts of inventive tricks to get around.

DD has dodgy balance so falls are a regular occurrence but today she fell over a dolls pushchair at toddler group and bashed her head, then bashed the same place falling over at home! Finally, she fell sideways off a chair and hurt her arm.

Just another day with dd though....

Poledra · 24/02/2010 21:13

It's been 4-yo DD2's week for the wars - burnt arm taking garlic bread out of the oven (under my supervision - not sure whether that makes it better or worse ), forehead banged off kitchen cupboard while horsing around with DH, slipped in the bath while jumping around and skinned knee (and ripped tights) from falling while running along to school.

shockers · 24/02/2010 21:14

DD and DS collided whilst playing tig outside the swimming baths. He has a large bump on his forehead and she has a spectacular shiner. The next day DS fell playing footie at the park (hard surface) and cut his elbow and hurt his wrist ( I was too busy walking and chatting with my friend to notice )

Glad it's not just me! (although obviously not glad your dcs have injured themselves, that would make me a little bit weird )

Thought it was just me!!!!! DD jumping on the bed and smacked her mouth on the corner, blood all over and she looked like she'd had botox her lips blew up that much!

AnathemaDevice · 24/02/2010 21:34

DS (10 months) fell down a couple of stairs today, approximately 5 minutes after managing to climb them for the first time. He's got a big bump on the back of his head with a little graze on top- the first time he's ever had an injury that's broken the skin.

Needless to say, I feel like the worst mum ever today, despite the fact I was standing next to him when it happened and did manage to break his fall slightly.

BurnyHill · 24/02/2010 21:38

DD (12mo) and I managed to headbutt each other whilst playing a tickling game and she now has the imprint of my front tooth on her forehead. When we went out I covered it up with a hat!

swill72 · 24/02/2010 23:48

DS (5) fell out of his mid-sleeper bed in the middle of the night and had a massive egg on top of his head. He didn't bother to tell me though (and didn't do his usual wailing and moaning), so imagine my embarrassment when the school phoned to let me know that he was complaining of a headache because of the lump I knew nothing about! Oops!

kreecherlivesupstairs · 25/02/2010 07:10

DD collected various bruises from her ski week holiday, nothing too serious. Back to school on Tuesday and she fell off the climbing frame. Hospital visit to check for fractures. In A+E she obviously realised how serious the situation was and told me and the doctor that she was exagerating

mixedraceparents · 25/02/2010 12:23

The kids are fine but I fell over rolymo this morning resulting in me doing the splits ouch.

Ironically rolymo then had the nerve to sing "If you could rolymo with me, oh what fun it would be..."

Yea well it might have been good for you rolymo but it really sucked for me [hmm}

hmmSleep · 25/02/2010 13:14

sorry mixedraceparents, but that is very funny.

Poor DS1(4) ended up at A&E yesterday with a cut on his head after tiles from a toilet wall in the restaurant fell on his head. He was so good at hospital while they examined him, thankfully no stitches needed.

GoddessInTheKitchen · 25/02/2010 21:30

is no one watching ch 4?

not gonna sue rolymo then mixedrace?

hmmSleep · 25/02/2010 22:04

Does that mean my dcs could sue me, for leaving the coffee table and stairs lying around
