my 19month old daughter has always been a quite good sleeper up untill this past week or so. I put her to bed drowsy so she knows where she is going and doesn't wonder where she is when she wakes up. She goes down in her bed fine untill i leave the room...then the fun starts. She will scream at the top of her lungs and cry and alot of the time she gets in such a state because how upset she is. If i go back up to her she will stop everything instantly and just look at me and sometimes even laugh. At the moment i am trying the controlled crying but dont really feel comfortable with it, she will also do this in the middle of the night aswell but not as often. does any1 have or have had these problems? comments much appreciated thank you

It sounds to me like she's just decided that she'll go to bed when she wants. She doesn't want to be left out of whatever is going on and has discovered that if she screams you come running.

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong because she stops crying as soon as you go back to her, it doesn't take any time to calm her down.

My ds is 18 months and is doing exactly the same. I think now it's a matter of determination. Who's going to win? It's awful leaving him yelling but he eventually goes to sleep and then I creep in and tuck him in. Tiring though.
