crying at nap time

Hi there,

DS1 (18 months old) has always been a great sleeper - 12 hrs at night and 2 x 2hrs naps during the day at home. She is at nursery 2.5 days per week were she normally has a 1 hour sleep during the day.

2 months ago when I was 8 months pregnant she started refusing to nap at nursery and now she is struggling at home. She has started crying when I put her in her cot for a nap during the day. The crying can last for a long time in spite of the fact that she is clearly very tired.

Is this because of the big changes at home with a new baby?

Is it because she is now 18 months old?

People have recommended dropping the morning nap and putting her down after lunch but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

g is 2 and went through the same thing with screaming at sleep time and he wasgreat at sleeping. he would chat for up to hour but i left him and just popped in . he now just sleeps 2 hours at lunch time but i now have to sit him on rocking chair and he passes out after five mins but took a while to get there i say it because she wants more time with you which is sweet i let her just wear herself out and she soon want a nap again especially when the baby crys and wakes her up at night ./
