Hi all,
DD is approaching 20 months and since about 12 months old has been extremely protective over me.
It started off with her getting a bit upset if she saw me holding another baby. Then she started crying when I played with other kids and tried to climb onto my lap and smother me, now she gets really upset if DH puts an arm round me or we cuddle or were sat too close on the sofa (DH has affectionately named her the fun police/my bodyguard).
Its all quite funny at the time but I'm wondering if theres something we should be doing everytime she reacts like this to try and stop her getting to upset, she tries pushing DH away and cries her heart out. Covers her face and hides against my chest. She gets really scared and screams.
She hasn't got an issue with DH interacting with her, its literally only when mummy and daddy have physical contact.
Is this normal? Should I be just continuing to do whatever it is were doing and get her to just lump it?
Hope to have another baby in about a year and I'm worried if we dont quash this she may be really jealous of any newborns.
