22mo DS throwing hard toys. Eek!

My DS is almost 22 months now, and has been an active child from the word go. He loves runnig around and gets impatient when he's restrianed (as in, when he's in his high chair or pram at times - we don't restrain him in any other way!)

Until now, his activeness has simply resulted in him going after buttons, climbing on furniture, the usual. It's irritating because I worry he'll hurt himself/break something, but hey, it's all part of the deal. We say 'no' firmly, and move him away, and I have given him a very light snack on the back of the hand when he went for a plug and a hot oven, as I wanted him to associate those things with 'pain' in a way that wouldn't actually hurt too much.

Anyway, rambling. The last few days have been different - he's suddenly startedthrowing his toys - some of them very hard - with a great deal of force across the room. Some have come close to hitting myself and my DP, and he's been throwing things at our glass front door, too.

Given his age, what can I do to break this habit quickly? I'm taking the toys away at the moment, but as soon as he gets them back he starts again. I wouldn't be so worried, but I'm pregnant, and I really don't want this to continue past the point the bab'ys born. I don't think he's really aware of the baby, so that isn't why he's doing it.

If my DSs throw a toy, we put it on the fridge for one week. They learned pretty quickly that it's not something we do.
