My seven week old son will not nap in the day and if he does it's only for 20 mins or maybe 30 max, nowhere near the amount all the books suggest. Plus because he won't sleep I feel he is constantly grumpy or falling asleep on the breast and not getting enough milk, it seems a bit of a vicious circle. Any help?

try a sling - wrap around ones are good

I agree about the sling. I used a Storchenwiege one - just wearing her around the house - and that was the first time my dd slept for three hours at a stretch. Seven weeks is very early to be expecting regular naps though. Ignore the books! Some babies sleep little and often, some for longer stretches.

Thanks for these ideas, will definitely try the sling and ignore the books. Cheers (smile)
