DS weighs 13.8 kgs at 2.4 mths. A bit concerned. How much did/does your DC weight at same age?

HV weigh-ins are on a Thursday and I work so unable to take him to be weighed and see if his weight is okay. We weighed him at home. He seems similar in size to his peers of same age but his tummy is a way bigger.

Oh God...yes...oh am scared now is that really heavy?

If you weighed him yourself any chance you got it wrong?
That is really heavy and if he looks similar to his peers with a big tum then I doubt he is really that much??
My DS is 50th percentileish and 10kg and is 1 for comparison!

In the red book, what percentile does that put him? I imagine DS was something similar to that at 2.4 although as I can never reliably say where his red book is, I can't say for certain.

That's just above 'average' (between the 50th and 75th centile) according to my red book. So just fine. How tall is he?

Have found a chart online and he would appear to be just above the 50th percentile for weight so seems pretty average. Would need to do his height as well to decide whether he is taller or shorter than average. 2 year olds do often have fat tummies - they get less so as they get older.

I'll look in his red book when I get home! As I havent had it out for a year I wasnt sure if it went up to that age, good idea. He is slightly tall for his age (dad is 6.3 feet).

Don't worry, some are big, some are small. My ds2 is 2.6 and weighs around 18kgs. He is not fat, just rather tall, broad and solid. Neither dh nor I are tall or of the larger persuasion, sometimes it's difficult to explain!

DS2 is 3 in March and weighs 12.5 kgs but he is 1m tall and is very lean.
So long as the height and weight centiles are pretty close I'd say it's fine

I've just looked at DS book, when he was 2.4 he weighed 15.5kg.

havoc it would seem that that is fine .
DS belly still looks out of proportion though to other kids although I love it, it perfect for blowing raspberries on and is alarmingly rock solid after eating!
