Repetitive throat clearing in 6yo - WWYD?

DD has developed habit in past few weeks of clearing her throat every few seconds. Driving us up the wall and her friends are noticing it too. She is well and hasn't got an actual cough or cold. She says she has a frog, but when she's really absorbed it does seem to vanish. Is it a stage? Nervous thing? All advice welcome

My ds used to do this - actually around the same age as your dd (he is now 8) - he has stopped now, I think it was just a phase. We didn't draw attention to it. It is very annoying but I would suggest not saying anything as that might make her even more conscious.

My DS has this "habit" - for the last year or so, is now 5yo. It varies and is sometimes as frequent as every minute or so, a real old-bloke-catarrh CHHHHGGGK! He obviously can't help it, and hassling him just upsets him so I ignore it. I think he's had a few comments at school but I hardly notice it now.
Encouraging to hear someone who has grown out of it though, moffat.

thanks folks - good to know it's grow-outable, and will try to ignore - had been saying "you're coughing again" and was prompted to post on here by the realisation that it was turning into a throat-clear-say-sorry habit...
