9 day old constantly rooting

My 9 day old DD has rooted since the moment she was born and constantly wants to feed. I've got the hang of bf but am often overwhelmed by her demands. The 1st night in hospital she fed for a total of 6 hours- no mean feat for me after an emergency csec.
She is better and has slept 2-3 hrs at a time in the night which has been a godsend for me and DP. But I find she's so much more demanding at night and won't be settled by me at all, presumably because all she wants from me is milk. Not fun for DP who has to work too.
Has anyone else experienced similar?

yep

DD was permanently attached to me

remember your milk probably only came in a few days ago and this will help her settle more in the coming days and weeks

i think it is totally usual

if you think she needs more milk then let her have it - DD slept on my chest/with me at this age as she just wanted to be close to me and this helped with feeding

she won't settle well at this age - they generally can't without feeding to sleep, dummy, patting etc

it is very, very, very tiring and i frequently cried in the early weeks

Yes, it is tiring isn't it, but normal. I recommend learning to bf lying down and then doing that as much as possible all day long.

By the way you will probably get more responses if you post in the breastfeeding topic.
