ds has his first party invite (Yah!) but now am stressing in case he has a meltdown at the party - advice please

He's 3.9 and has some sensory problems we're waiting to see the paedrician about but basically if things are too noisy, bright or crowded he gets overloaded and can have big meltdowns. The party is at a loud soft play place. He wants to go, I think he should go but cna't decide whether I should explain to the mum in advance that he might not cope or wing it and hope for the best.

Wing it - your child won't be the only one who has a meltdown - can guarantee it! Just be on hand to deal with as necessary....

Agree with Blackduck - at that age they will all be going ballistic at a party (especially at a soft play area). I would wing it, but be there on hand with a big smile on your face.
