Finger Gloves and a 6 year old

DD was six in October but still struggles to put her fingers in 'finger' gloves correctly. We had to buy mittens instead again this winter as she just can't manage it and gets very frustrated with herself which usually ends in tears.

When should she be able to do this on her own and properly?

Dd is 6 now (also October) and can now do it. Between 4yrs and this winter though it was a 'mare.

It will come with practice!

This is always a tricky one and theres no hard and fast rules.....as a nursery nurse playtimes were spent trying to help 6 yr olds get their fingers in their gloves correctly - as a mum of 3 boys my patience lacked and I grew weary of gloves in general .

Heres my suggestions ......

Practice with fingerless gloves

encourage her to spread her fingers out as she pulls on the glove

you can get gloves with 'little dollies' on the finger tips - this seemed a good incentive for little girls although little boys chucked them with distaste .

Good luck .....
