Hi first post and posting on behalf of my worried girlfriend.

Basically my girlfriends 3 year old daughter visits her dad every other weekend from friday to sunday evening the problem is this when she returns the daughters attitude is very different to the one which she left, she weeps a bit for her dad which is natural but has started recently saying that she can decide where she wants to live, this is causing my girlfriend no end of worry and is wondering if it is the father that is putting these ideas into her head could, anyone give me some advice on this as i am not a father myself but cant understand how a 3 year old would come out whith such things.

hi rasputin he does see her also on a weekday which includes a 1 night stop over every other week, she obviously is very confused by the whole situation, the father left when she was 1 and a half which is a long time ago in a 3 year olds life, she still speaks about him being there once upon a time, my girlfriends concern is that he is filling her head with very confusing things.. There is also a court order which ruled on these times and dates which both abide by pretty well.. I'm not sure the father would agree to more often but less time he has a partner thats a 2 hour drive from his ex's, so when he gets his daughter he takes her there on a weekend..

Your advice is very good but the problem is the father he constantly must tell his daughter that she can live with him, i've spoken to my girlfriend and told her about trying to change the access days, the poor little girl is coming home in a very confused state not good for her mind at all, 3 year olds should be all about playtime not confusing conversations with people. Thanx for your advice, it all should be so simple yet it is so confusing for her..

Building a comfortable relationship with the father is easier said than done in this case, hes already assaulted my girlfriend and has told her that the daughter can make her own mind up where she lives in the future hes obviously playing with the poor girls mind when shes with him this is obvious with what she comes out with and how she acts when she returns from her 2 night stop, maybe we need to look for some advice from another source i dont konw what the answer can be..
