Spirited/Mischevious children (I'm sure you know what I mean!) - when do they begin to get a little more trustworthy?

Dd is 6, almost 7, and is still a real handful.

She's always up to mischeif, always getting herself into scrapes, always breaking things (although admittedly not with intent) and is generally a PITA who cannot be trusted to be left alone for even the shortest of periods.

She has always been a handful and is certainly the most challenging of my children, on the other hand she's funny and kind, caring and intelligent.

I know that 6/7 is a tricky phase and I know lots of parents with a child of this age find their behaviour challenging, I'm just looking for the light at the end of the tunnel!

If you had a little monkey - when did yours become more trustworthy?

don't know!
dd is 7.11 and has now started saying 'whatever' the whole bloody time. Think your dd will soon start growing up, try to enjoy her childishness while it lasts

The childishness I love, it's the constant breaking/wrecking of things that's driving me potty!

My DD is still destructive at 11... her brother (9) has never been so.

I'd say I've noticed a difference in my DD who sounds just like your in the last year or two. She'll he 11 in the Summer.

I think the arrival of her baby brother last year has helped tho'. I'd recommend it I have had to emphasise he'd be very east to break though!
