I have recently stopped my 3 yr old from having a mid morning nap and am in need of some de stressing tips.
I have two girls 3 and 21 months. The 21 month girl still has a nap, but my 3 year old was getting out of bed at night several times, so I decided to cut out the daytime nap.
It hasn' seemed to have worked, as some nights she is still refusing to go to bed or is getting up during the night quite a few times or is falling asleep on the sofa during the day.
I am exhausted as she can be very badly behaved when tired and getting up during the night doesn't help either.
Am a single mum, feeling in need of Nanny 911!! Does anyone have any tips or advice??

You could use a sticker chart or something, when she gets to seven stickers get her a new bedtime storybook?

Do everything you can to keep her awake during the day. Leave plenty of time for a bedtime routine ie 6.30pm bath, 6.50 milk, 7.00 story, 7.20 lights dimmed and both into bed. Each time she gets out take her hand and lead her back to bed, no eye contact or discussion (she will try hard to engage you in conversation). Keep strong. Take a deep breath.

My DS only moved into a bed last night, he climbed out his cot Friday night (ok, not hurt thankfully). 2 hours it took last night of putting him back to bed before he gave in and went to sleep in it. He was asleep in it from 9pm-8am. I'm so very proud of him... and me for being strong.

Whatever you do try not to let her see that it annoys you. HTH
