appalling sleeper - really confused

DD2 has been an appalling sleeper since birth, she is now 6.5 months and to give you an idea of a standard night, she goes down around 7ish, then generally wakes at least 4 times with one being a long one (about 1.5hours to settle lots of crying). So last night she woke 9pm, 10:30pm, 12:30 (didn't settle till 2) the 5 and finally 7. She is exclusively BF (won't take a bottle or cup) and has silent reflux for which she takes omeprazole. I am utterly exhausted now but don't know how to tackle this.

Joined a sleep forum which said - only feed her 4 hourly day and night, get her in a routine, do CC to settle her if she wakes before the 4 hourly mark, says she is waking wanting breast for comfort.

HV says she still needs the night feeds as she isn't fully weaned( been a struggle to get her to take solids but we are getting there) and she has only put on 6lbs since birth (and she was big 9.5lb) so once she is taking more in day sleep will follow.

I sort of feel she is waking for a reason, she can settle herself to sleep as i do put her in cot awake at last thing at night and i don't think she is hungry as she goes long intervals in day now. but i know she has probably developed appalling sleep associations as we have had so many problems and been doing whatever we can on a day to day basis to get the most sleep. don't feel i can do CC or any other training if she is waking in discomfort still.

we tried co sleeping but she woke just as much.

really confused as to what to do, am keeping sleep diary and seeing paediatrician again next week but just feel so demoralised and want to get some semblance of a life back other than the zombie like existence we have at the moment.
