Toddler keeps running off - helps please

My toddler keeps making a run for it and when I shout stop or run after him he runs faster. Obviously he doesn't not get how dangerous it is. He is 2.6. Any ideas how I can stop it? I think we will just have to use the pushchair all the time unless we are at the park.

Reins. There is a type where the child wears a small rucksack, and reins for you to hold lead off that. DD makes a fuss, but I make her choose between the reins and the pushchair, and she usually goes for the reins.

wrist strap

he won't like it but safety is paramount

DS has the rucksack reins, it is great.

we had rucksack reins, although ds2 after a while just keeps lying down on the floor becuase he doesn't want it on

tbh most of the time he has to stay in pushchair, but if we're out at shops and stuff i try and have a break in the park, or in ELC or somewhere so he can have a bit of a wander

I have tried reins and he goes mad, but after today I am not risking it. Reins it is.

P.S Sorry about all the typos. I am so tired tonight!

I do reins with my 23mo DS when I have to, but also get the screaming tantrums and very loud "NO" (only has 5 words but manages that one ) when I get them out. We do reins when we have to, interspersed with "hold mummy's hand or you go in the pushchair".

Its a pain because I have to take the pushchair everywhere when I don't always need to, but it does work more often than not now, and the reins have been on the hook since before Christmas at the moment!
