DS started at primary School after the xmas hols andy every morining he cries, well really sobs infact and I have to prize him off me.
He is still with all his friends that he was with at nursery and his teachers are the same.
I had DS2 during the xmas hols so he was used to staying at home with us for 2 weeks. when I talk to him about it he just says he doesn't like school and he wants to stay at home with me and his brother.
This has been going on for 2 weeks now, I have tried talking to him, doing a star chart and just ingnoring him when he starts crying.

I really dont know what to do for him, Ive told him he has to go to school etc and when DS2 gets bigger he will have to go to school but nothing seems to work. I dont know wether to shout at him, ignore him or what when he starts.
The teachers say he is fine the rest of the day after I have gone but he says he has been sad at school

Anybody have experiance of this?? how long will it last and how can I help him??

Does he have to go to school?

It sounds like you are doing all the right things, and that it will just take time. Two weeks in is early days, especially as he'd just had the upheaval of a new baby brother at home.

A little boy who started at nursery (in school) with my ds was like this, although his older sister was also at the school. He clung to her like a limpet and would be sat, wailing on TA's lap as the mother dashed out. If, however, I took ds in slightly later than he arrived (2 - 3 mins!), he'd be happily playing with the other children.

It must be worse for your son as he knows his baby brother is staying at home with you, where he'd prefer to be.

I hope that this is also just a phase for your ds1.
